It was an early Sunday morning in November almost one year ago that we put together our first bags! This lovely photo shows the three of us in a living room filling Harris Teeter bags with the contents of a bundle. We were busy getting together our initial Nurse-Family Partnership Bags. It was maybe a dozen bags but what I remember was how clothes were everywhere! We were amazed at how much “stuff” really went into a bundle. Our close friends had gathered their children’s clothes, we gathered our own children’s clothes and still had to go shopping. The process was exciting. We began to realize that real moms would receive this gift and hopefully feel some relief from it.
Volunteer Day has become the bread and butter of our operations at Baby Bundles. The consignment sales have brought us heaps of clothes to de-tag, sort, inventory and bundle. We are so grateful to our WONDERFUL friends who answered our plea for help. On Volunteer Day our warehouse was filled with women who were giving their time to our organization. They booked sitters, arranged for carpool pick-up, put off coffee with a friend or skipped exercise class and showed up at our doorstep ready to help. The energy was contagious! Thank you to all of our Volunteers. Those babies feel your love!
